We do things a little differently

As you follow us, you will learn something about us at Pine Country Feed.  We do things a little differently here and I’ll tell you why.
Here at Pine Country Feed we love what we do and we do what we love.  There is a spirit that lives here that you will find nowhere else because the spirit here is like no other.  We understand that life is about dreams, believing in something, do something that matters, and standing up for the things we believe in.  We weren’t born with this spirit, we have developed it and fight for it.  And we will continue to fight because that is what real cowgirls and cowboys do and we intend to make a difference in the world by having fun, taking risks, trying new things, and living out loud.  We know what it’s like to be free, live big, and hold nothing back and that is what we will continue to do and how we will continue to run our business.  We hope you will join us for the ride!

a fashion disaster!!!!!!

We all know that the right jeans are a must but let us not forget yet another very important element to our wardrobe.  Let us consider the belt.  Some people think that a belt is meant to secure your pants around your waist.  Boy!  Are they wrong!  Belts are about the bling, image, the flair! Duh!!
The right belt needs to twinkle, shimmer, shine, glow, stand out, and rock when you walk through the door.  A belt is the perfect accessory for any pair of jeans you will find.
Flair on a belt is a great belt buckle, fancy detail, an embossed design, or, the classic, your name branded on the back.  Whatever your style, your belt says something about who you are.  It might say you are a tough girl, a sweet thing, a classic cowgirl, a party queen, a wholesome honey, or a blue blood bleedin’ American Princess.
Whatever it may be, don’t  leave your house without the right belt!  It would be a fashion disaster!

I am your Dog and I love you.

I’m forever loyal, always there, never late, never too tired.  I work hard, play harder.  I never hold back my love, and always am happy to see you.  You are my hero, my role model, my buddy.  I look at you with adoration, I wait for you at the door.  I always listen to your problems, I always have time for you, I never have more important things to do.  I work hard to understand, I work hard to please.  I’m happy because you are happy, I am sad because you are sad, I am excited because you are excited.  I get up early with you for work, I wait go to bed late with you even after a long day.  I’m always at your side, I’m always trying to help.  I love you no matter what you do, I am there no matter where you are, I’m your true companion, your greatest fan, your most faithful partner, and your best friend.  I am you your dog and I love you!

There is something about Rocky Mountain spaces

Headed home

There is something about Rocky Mountain spaces that just does a person some good.  After spending some time in the city surrounded by concrete and glass I realize how energizing fresh air, a cool breeze, and waving grasses can be.  I think that we cowboys and cowgirls forget the paradise we live in.  For me I live in the peace and calm that you only find in the great Rocky Mountains.  Blue sky, the sounds of the great outdoors, and the sweet mountain air greets me at my door every day I leave for work.  There aren’t too many people who get to say that they enjoy the freedom that the mountains offer, the joy a fall ride through the aspen trees brings, and the comfort a real wood burning fire gives you.  I am blessed enough to know those things and live those things.  I am grateful for the beauty, peace, joy, and serenity that my wonderful mountain home offers me.

Tip: How to help your child feel more comfortable on a horse

When you grow up around horses, by the time you are an adult you can’t imagine your life without them and it no longer occurs to you that someone may be afraid of a horse.  However, when I think back to when I was a little girl, those horses seemed really big to me.  I could just about walk right underneath most of them.  I have to admit that I was a little intimidated at first when I hopped on for my first ride.  The uneasiness quickly faded but that was only after I was taught the basics of being around a horse.  Here is what I suggest when trying to help your child feel more comfortable around a these great animals.
Teaching your kids safety around horses is the number rule. It will make them feel more comfortable around these large animals and keep them safe. Always keep a watchful eye on them and helmets are a must!

Those Eyes

There was something in those eyes, deep pools of chocolate brown that sucked me in and wouldn’t let go. Eyes that told me you were strong, driven, rugged, and a fighter. Those eyes also told me that you were gentle, understanding, caring, and a good man. Those eyes were confident, they had character, they had wisdom, they had loyalty. Those eyes told me that you would never let me down. They told me that you would catch me if I fell, hold me if I needed comfort but, also let me go when I needed freedom and independence. Those eyes told me that you would believe in me just as much as you believe in yourself. They told me that you could take me away but could bring me home again. They told me that your hands are tough from hard work but turn to silk in a touch. Those eyes told me that you have the strength to be uncommon, the pride to fight for what you believe in, the integrity to be better than the rest, the character to live with honor, and the poise to walk beside me instead of in front of me.

Those eyes told me that you are a cowboy.

The Cowgirl Spirt

There is a spirit inside us cowgirls that can be found nowhere else in the world. There is just something in our blood the makes us a little stronger, a little tougher, and walk a little taller. I can’t tell you where this spirit comes from. Maybe it’s the love of freedom we have, the faith in our own ability, the lack of fear of hard work, dirt and failure. Are we strong because we have a fighting side a mile wide? Are we tough because we know that no matter what is thrown our way, we can handle it? Do we walk tall because we believe in ourselves? I think it’s all of these things.

A cowgirl is not the type of girl who gives up when things don’t go well. We are not the type to get knocked down easily. We are not the type to be told that we can’t. We understand that we have dirt on our hands and dust on our boots because we are going somewhere. We are making something of ourselves and even though the work maybe hard, the road maybe long, and tears may fall, we were made to be somebody. We were born to live above the status quo and raise the bar high because we were born cowgirls and the cowgirl spirit burns like fire that cannot quenched.

Touches of the Fall Season

Warm up your home with natural touches of the fall season.  Bring the outdoors in by laying a few branches with dried fall leaves across the mantel or on top of a sofa table or armoire. Fall floral looks great in vases and tucked in around photos and other decorative items.

Boots look great with everything- SO WEAR THEM PROUDLY!!

I was reading a blog about fashion yesterday when I came across one that mentioned cowboy boots. I clicked to read the article and immediately was upset with the writer. It was her opinion that cowboy boots are old and out dated. This is just ridiculous!! Has she ever put on a good pair of boots? Maybe where she is from, no one is tough enough to wear them right. Maybe she’s just upset because she’s not rockin’ enough to pull them off. Maybe she can’t do the cowgirl swagger that makes every pair of boots look like THE PAIR OF BOOTS. Whatever the reason, she was perfectly wrong!

Boots look good with just about everything. Leggings, jeans, skirts, dresses, pearls, your boyfriends t-shirt, even your daddy’s old work coat. They go with everything and there is no better way to keep your feet warm but still have some style, then just the right pair of boots.

Boots, Chaps, and Cowboy Hats

Cowgirl Quote of the week:

Boots, chaps and cowboy hats…. nothing else matters. ~ Author Unknown.

Well...maybe coffee should be thrown in there too.
